Joe
is orginally from Knoxville and after graduating from the University
of Tennessee, Joe moved to Nashville and entered the Nashville School
of Law while employed by the State of Tennessee. Upon graduation
in 1974, Joe accepted a position as an attorney with the Dept. of
Public Health enforcing disciplinary action against doctors, nurses,
and other health care practitioners including Elvis Presley's doctor.Joe
also helped enforce the environmental laws bringing polluters, coal
minors and business to justice before the appropriate regulatory
boards.
Joe
has been involved in the community working on various non-profit
boards including the Exchange Club Child Abuse Center where he served
as Board President for 2 years; served as Board President of Residential
Services an agency that places disadvantaged childen in foster homes;
a member of the Junior Chamber of Commmerce where he received theMember
of the Year award; a board member of the Downtown Exchange Club;
a volunteer for Buddies of Nashville, Oasis Center, Gilda's Club,
and various other community interests.
Joe
is married to Peggy Dughman and they have two children and one grandchild.
Joe has lived in Nashville for 35 years and considers it a privelege
to practice law and help the community in non-profit and legal work.
Joe's believes the first duty of society is justice.
